Learning

Capacity Building and Government Fellowship programmes.

We have two main programmes for Learning and Development:

Capacity Building

This is designed to equip Government Chief Information Officers with the required competencies to fulfil their responsibilities and to enable the development of an internationally recognised profession. Course descriptions include a reference to its main scientific area, recommended duration in terms of contact hours, learning outcomes and syllabus. All courses have a flexible curriculum design that can be adapted to each administration, agency, or service's context, training aims, and trainee background. In all cases, however, they include an experimental, interactive component fostering group synergies and active learning strategies.

Through an institucional partnership with University of Minho, these programmes are certified and credited using the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).

Government Fellowship

Aimed at bridging the worlds of research and policy-making in Electronic Governance, our Government Fellowship programme seeks to develop the competencies of civil servants with responsibilities for using ICT for modernisation and innovation in the public sector, particularly in developing countries. During the fellowship, it is possible to share experiences, benchmark, and explore areas of collaboration in the application of policy instruments within governments, public administrations, and other relevant organisations. A total of 8 Government Fellows are expected to be recruited each year for three-month periods starting in January, April, July, and October.
