On 25 November 2016, starting at 15:00h in Guimarães, there will be a closing workshop of the integrated training program that is taking place since 31 October at the University of Minho premises. This workshop is linked with the Support Project for the Improvement of the Quality and Proximity of Public Services in PALOP Countries and Timor-Leste (Projeto de Apoio à Melhoria da Qualidade e da Proximidade dos Serviços Públicos nos PALOP e Timor-Leste), which is funded by the European Union and executed and co-funded by Camões, I.P. under the 10th European Development Fund. Technical supervision is provided by the Agency for Administrative Modernization, I.P. PASP/PALOP-TL is an initiative together with the University of Minho through UMinho-EGOV, with the support of UNU-EGOV, and highly valuable for the partner countries, particularly the ones which will benefit from a training that will be formalized by the University of Minho as a postgraduate course. The course will feature international credits (ECTS) that can be used for the academic training of each participant if so they wish.
The workshop will serve for the 24 trainees from PALOP Countries and Timor-Leste to present the work developed during the training. After the workshop there will be two keynote presentations on “Administrative Simplification in Portugal: Successes and Obstacles” by João Tiago Silveira, former Secretary of State for Justice, and “Evolution of ICT in Mozambique” by the General-Director of INTIC, Dulce Chilundo. Pedro Dias, the president of AMA and Gonçalo Caseiro, member of the Directing Council of the Portuguese Mint and Official Printing Office, will also speak.
The closing session of the training will be in charge of Rui Vieira de Castro, Vice-Rector of the University of Minho; Ana Paula Laborinho, President of Instituto Camões; Pedro Dias, President of AMA; and Gonçalo Trindade, Coordinator of PASP/PALOP-TL. Following up on this there will be a “dinner conversation” with a keynote speech by the current Secretary of State for Justice, Dra. Anabela Pedroso.
