    Speaker

nripendra-ranaDr. Nripendra P. Rana is an Associate Professor in the School of Management at Swansea University, UK. With an academic and professional background in Mathematics and Computer Science and with PhD in Information Systems, his current research interests focus primarily upon adoption of emerging and cutting edge technology, e-government, m-government, e-commerce and m-commerce systems. His work has been published in leading academic journals including European Journal of Marketing, Information Systems Frontiers, Government Information Quarterly, Production Planning & Control, Journal of Business Research, Annals of Operations Research, Public Management Review and Computers in Human Behavior. He has also presented his research in some of the prominent international conferences of information systems across the world.

    Abstract

ISM is an interactive learning process: a group’s adjudication decides whether and how a number of variables are related, an overall structure is extracted from the complex set of variables based on the relationships interpreted by the group, and then the specific relationships and overall structure are portrayed in a directed graph (digraph) model through a hierarchical configuration. ISM enables the visual representation of a complex problem via a systematic process based on the structural modelling of interconnected matrices. This approach imposes classification and direction on the relationships between elements within a complex system. We will demonstrate the formulation of frameworks using ISM in the area of information systems project failure, trustworthiness of digital government services and big open linked data (BOLD) which we have already published in various prestigious outlets.
