Vítor Fonte is Adjunct Assistant Professor at the United Nations University (UNU-EGOV). He is also a full-time Assistant Professor at the University of Minho, and a senior researcher at INESC TEC’s High Assurance Software Laboratory (INESC TEC/HASLab).

Vítor Fonte is Adjunct Assistant Professor at the United Nations University (UNU-EGOV). He is also a full-time Assistant Professor at the University of Minho, and a senior researcher at INESC TEC’s High Assurance Software Laboratory (INESC TEC/HASLab). Since 1993 he has been teaching several master-level courses on Operating and Distributed Systems, and on Computer Security and Cybercrime. Since 2014 he has been engaged in international training courses on Cyber-security, ranging from Infrastructure to Information Systems Security, coordinating courses on Electronic Identification and Public Key Infrastructures, and more recently on State-run Electronic Certification Platforms. At UNU-EGOV he coordinates the research line on Digital Certification and Preservation of Digital Memory, and at INESC TEC’s HASLab, his research interests have been focused on highly scalable key-value stores, as well as on cloud, edge and fog-computing security. He has been a research member on several national, and European-funded research project teams, and supervises PhD students and postdoc researchers on Distributed Systems, and on Computer Security. He also has been serving on Program and Organizing Committees of several international conferences on Computer Science, and more recently, on Electronic Governance.
