    Demetrios Sarantis and Irfanullah Arfeen, Postdoctoral Fellows at UNU-EGOV, chaired sessions and presented papers the 16th International Conference on WWW/INTERNET 2017, which took place in Vilamoura, Portugal, between 18-20 October 2017. The conference aims to address the main issues of concern within WWW/Internet, and covers both technological and non-technological issues related to the latest developments in the area. This year’s edition was organized by the International Association for the Development of the Information Society (IADIS).

    Demetrios presented a paper entitled Removing Barriers in eGovernment: Back Office Assessment, which discusses some of the most popular existing e-Government assessment approaches and proposes an e-Government back office capacity assessment framework which could be applied complementary to them. Arfeen’s paper, on the other hand, compares sociability and its impact on learner’s personality traits, both in classroom and E-Learning settings to provide an insight for HRM decisions. The paper is entitled Sociability Impact on Learner’s Personality in Classroom and e-Learning Environments: A Comparative Analysis. The two UNU-EGOV researchers also chaired sessions during the conference: Demetrios chaired the session “Applications of Semantic Web” and Arfeen chaired the sesssion “>Mobile Web // Web Services/SaaS”.
