Elsa Estevez, Senior Academic Programme Officer at UNU-EGOV, contributed to the final evaluation of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in e-Government, organized by the Information Technology Authority (ITA) of the Sultanate of Oman, that took place in Muscat from 1 to 5 November 2014.
The Award attracted 57 projects across 30 government and private sector entities from Oman, that were evaluated in 13 categories, 9 related to the government sector and 4 to the private sector. As a jury member, Elsa Estevez contributed to the assessment of the submissions and to the report prepared by the Jury, including a set of recommendations for improving e-Government development in Oman.
The winners were honored in a grand ceremony that took place on 3 December 2014 in Muscat and was attended by Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia.
