2017•09•22 Lisbon
Delfina Soares, the Head of UNU-EGOV, attended the OECD Working Party of Senior Digital Government Officials (e-Leaders 2017), which took place in Lisbon between 21-22 September 2017.
This year’s edition was hosted by the Government of Portugal through the Agency for Administrative Modernisation (AMA). The Working Party is the official body of the OECD that oversees its area of work and sets the organization’s priorities for digital government. The meeting brought together the most senior government officials from all OECD member countries to discuss policy issues that are relevant to digital government. The theme for 2017 was “The Digital Transformation of the Public Sector: Making the right decisions to serve the needs of networked societies“.
The first day brought together Working Party delegates alongside private sector firms, non-profits, and academia to discuss the most pressing issues and decisions facing digital government policy-makers today. The day included plenary sessions in the morning and parallel breakout sessions in the afternoon, followed by a final plenary at the end of the day on international coordination and collaboration in the field of digital government, which was also the session in which Delfina was part of the panel. The second day of the event was reserved for delegates to discuss issues of relevance to the Working Party.
