Signing of Memorandum of Understanding between UNU and AMA

    David Malone, the Rector of the United Nations University (UNU) and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Paulo Neves, the President of the Agency for Administrative Modernization (AMA) of the Portuguese Government signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UNU, acting through UNU-EGOV, and AMA during the UNU-EGOV opening ceremony on 24 April 2015 in Guimarães.

    The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration between both institutions in the areas of administrative modernization, public service delivery, regulatory simplification and e-government, covering joint research activities and fund-raising, joint academic activities and training, exchange of human resources, and coordination and communication, while recognizing the University of Minho as a privileged partner for this collaboration.

    The signing ceremony was witnessed by about 100 invitees including members of the diplomatic corps based in Portugal, members of parliament and municipal councils, university authorities and professors, industry representatives, and the media.
