As part of the ongoing collaboration between UNU-EGOV, the University of Minho, and the Agency for Administrative Modernization (AMA) hub in Guimarães, a networking event entitled StartSmart Day: UM-UNU Master Thesis Project on EGOV took place on 31 October 2017 at the Operating Unit premises in Guimarães.
The main goal of the event was to promote the interaction and discussion of ideas between the students of the University of Minho who are developing their master thesis projects in the area of EGOV, their respective academic advisors, and the researchers of UNU-EGOV. The programme included a welcoming session by the Head of UNU-EGOV, Delfina Soares, and a brief presentation of the work currently being developed by the University of Minho and the Operating Unit. Afterwards, a presentation from AMA was also given, providing the audience with some key insights from the public institute that exercises the powers of the Prime Minister’s Office in the fields of administrative modernization, simplification and digital administration in Portugal. The presentation was delivered by Paulo Vale from the Department of Digital Transformation. Finally, the spotlight turned to the students of the University of Minho with a round of self-introductions and brief presentation of the respective thesis project, methodology, and expected outcomes.
