Tomasz Janowski, the Head of UNU-EGOV, was appointed Co-Editor-in-Chief of Government Information Quarterly (GIQ), an International Journal of Information Technology Management, Policies, and Practices published by Elsevier. He will share this role with Marijn Janssen from the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management at the Delft University of Technology, Netherlands.
As the leading journal in the field, GIQ seeks to publish high quality scholarly research, reviews, review essays and editorials that inform both researchers and practitioners regarding the relationship between policy, information technology, government, and the public. In particular, it focuses on how policies affect government information flows and the availability of government information; the use of technology to create and provide innovative government services; the impact of information technology on the relationship between the governed and those governing; and the increasing significance of information policies and information technology in relation to democratic practices.
As Co-Editors-in-Chief, Tomasz Janowski and Marijn Janssen are responsible for and have control over the scientific content of the Journal, taking into account the Journal’s aims and scope, and the publisher’s editorial policies. This role is supported by a team of Associate Editors that handle individual submissions and interact with authors and reviewers, and the Journal’s Editorial Board.
