BACKGROUND

The purpose of the Barometer is to provide an instrument to measure and monitor the operationalization measures inscribed in the University Action Plan and proposed by the Rectorate for the period 2021-2025. The Action Plan is divided in 8 agenda which lay down the frame for the research and tasks conducted, to be reflected in the monitoring instrument and subsequent web portal.

This way, all interested can follow up on the current stage of implementation of each iniciative inscribed in the Action Plan, with valuable contribution for institutional transparency as well as for internal management. It serves both the internal and external public (not only inside academia but also external stakeholders, namely civil society, local organizations and other universities) and it is a unique example of transparency in public sector management.

BENEFICIARIES

The beneficiaries of the project are: the University of Minho (academic community and managers), the Academic community at large and Civil Society.

OBJECTIVES

The objective of this project is to develop and implement an instrument to measure and monitor the measures inscribed in the University Action Plan and proposed by the Rectorate for the period 2021-2025.

ACTIVITIES

The activities of this project are: 1. Define an instrument to measure and monitor the 142 initiatives listed in the Action Plan, taking into account the indicators and timings for execution referred in the same Plan; 2. Design and present the specifications of the web platform, called “Portal UM Barometer” to publicize and disseminate the monitoring results; and 3. Development of the UM Barometer web portal.
